Oscar chance for Dame Judi

Dame Judi Dench has spoken of how thrilled she is to have been given another chance of winning an Oscar. The York-born actress has been nominated as best supporting actress for her role in Chocolat, a comic fable adapted from the book by Joanne Harris.

The former Mount School pupil said: "Making the film was a wonderful experience. I'm just so thrilled and happy, and lucky to have worked with such a great cast and crew."

The Oscars ceremony takes place on March 25. Chocolat is due to open in York on March 2.
