1999 Dame Judi Dench DBE[The] Very worthy winner this year is one of our most distinguished and versatile actresses, who's nomination fought off all opposition by a large margin.
About fifty members attended a special ceremony on 19th January at The Dominion, London to present Dame Judi Dench with the 1999 IEAM Waterford Crystal Award for outstanding service to our industry.
The award was presented by Brian Goddard, IEAM's President and Rebecca Bray, Marketing Manager of Waterford Crystal.
Dame Judi treated members to an amusing speech about formerly owning six Waterford glasses which went down to five; then four and one chipped; then three until eventually there were none. She was delighted to have such a large Waterford glass now, but was a little concerned about where to keep it safe with a 2 year old grandson around! Dame Judi was accompanied at the ceremony by her actress daughter Finty Williams.
IEAM thanks Waterford Crystal for its continued support and Stephen Murtagh, George Buchanan and Apollo Leisure for their generous hospitality and organisation on the day.
