I like to incorporate into these pages suggestions from the people that come to visit. One of the ones I absolutely refuse to use, however, is embedding a sound file into the starting page. Just a personal preference, but if there's anything that makes me leave someone's web page before it even loads is not only the playing of music I didn't want but the fact that it invariably plays too loudly and the controls are either out of immediate sight or missing altogether.

Someone took the trouble to record the theme song of ATGB as sung by Joe Fagin and, if I remember correctly, it was about 4 megabytes in size. To date my site has nearly 2000 files and all of them together represent just over 10 megabytes. I can't even imagine my wanting to use that on a web site, although it might be nice to run it on your personal hard drive.

I managed to find several midi and wav files and I'm posting two of the best midis. I've got to say however that the best are not great. I'm going to post two of the longest running midi files -- both run 4 minutes and if you want them, take and play them. If your computer will run the midi, and most will, and you get the box asking if you want to run you can accept that option and it will begin to play right then, or you can save it to disk and play it later. Or do both. Each file is about 35K.
