Everett and Dame Judi set for a Wilde time

Rupert Everett and Dame Judi Dench are reported to be in negotiations to star in a film verison of Oscar Wilde's The Importance of Being Earnest.

According to Variety, the film will be directed by Oliver Parker. He also directed another Wilde film, An Ideal Husband, which starred Everett.

Everett is expected to play Algernon, one of the two male leads, while Dame Judi is expected to take on the role of Lady Bracknell.

The film is expected to begin shooting in the new year and is being produced by Miramax, which also produced Oscar-winning movies Shakespeare in Love and Good Will Hunting.
