On September 1st, the Open Air Theatre celebrated not only 70 years of performance in Regent’s Park but the award-winning success of the many musical productions performed here over the last 15 years.
The evening was hosted by Ian Talbot, the theatre’s Artistic Director, and Dame Judi Dench. Numbers from shows including ‘Kiss Me Kate’, ‘Paint Your Wagon’ and ‘Lady Be Good’ were performed by stars of the stage and screen, all of whom have appeared at the Open Air Theatre in the past.
Guests included Maria Aitken, Bernard Cribbins, Janie Dee, Peter Duncan, Rhys Ifans, Jessica Martin, Natascha McElhone, Hayley Mills, Su Pollard, Denis Quilley, Issy van Randwyck, Joanna Riding, Liz Robertson, Samantha Spiro, Paula Wilcox and Gary Wilmot.
