
UPDATES at the BBC News or the Evening Standard The Oscar-winning star will be awarded a Bafta Fellowship. It will reward her exceptional career on film which stretches back nearly four decades.
Her career will also be celebrated at a star-studded tribute evening, to be attended by other actors. Among the guests will be Pierce Brosnan, Dame Maggie Smith and Richard E Grant.
The actress will celebrate her 67th birthday on the day of her gala evening, December 9.
She has picked up five Baftas, most recently a best actress trophy, for her TV role in the BBC drama, Last Of The Blonde Bombshells. Her first was during the sixties for most promising newcomer, in 'Four In the Morning'
